ABOUT AMANDA
Amanda grew up by the sea surrounded by art and nature. She had an interest in healing, the arts, philosophy and spirituality since her teens when she first started to travel and experience other cultures. This led to an interest in the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner(Anthroposophy) and Steiner Waldorf education. She held a position as the pre- school Director at the Armidale Waldorf School in NSW.
It was here she became interested in therapeutic work, particularly with the role of artistic processes in education and healing. In 1997 she travelled to the UK where she completed a 4 year qualification in Hauschka Art Therapy at The Hibernia School of Artistic Therapy.
Returning to Australia after working as an art therapist in England with neuro-divergent youth in an educational setting she completed a Graduate Diploma in Counselling in 2010 and began work as a trauma counsellor working with refugee survivors of trauma and war who had fled violence.

Amanda’s Gallery
Amanda shares some of her art work here. She particularly enjoys working in the landscape and painting her environment. For her it is a healing process of mindful attentiveness akin to meditation. It is a sense of connectedness to nature which is restorative, enlivening and brings peace.
